Mending their fences?

The green windscreens that adorn
the fences beyond the Wrigley Field bleachers are coming down
after the season, Cubs President Andy MacPhail said Tuesday.
But that doesn't necessarily mean
they'll stay down.
The Cubs have been ridiculed for
erecting the windscreens to obstruct the view from the rooftops
on Waveland and Sheffield Avenues.
The Cubs hope to reach an agreement
with the rooftop operators, who have blocked the team's efforts
to add about 2,100 seats in a renovation.
The windscreens wouldn't have
served any purpose in the off-season.
"Hopefully the screens can
become an ancient memory," MacPhail said.
